Internal Pelvic Release

A gentle approach to pelvic balance and comfort

What is Internal Pelvic Release?

Our pelvis holds so much wisdom. Through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and even the menstrual cycle, it adapts and carries the deep stories of our bodies. Internal Pelvic Release is a gentle, hands-on approach that works with the soft tissues of the pelvis—muscles, fascia, and ligaments—to support relaxation and balance.

Unlike clinical pelvic exams that focus on the cervix, Internal Pelvic Release uses light, intentional touch through the back wall of the vagina to encourage softness and awareness in the pelvic space. This work is not about diagnosing or treating medical conditions; it is about creating space, connection, and ease in your body.

Who is Internal
Pelvic Release for?

This session is for any woman who wants to explore more ease and connection in her pelvis. It may be beneficial if you are:

  • Preparing for birth – Encourages softening of the pelvic tissues to support baby’s positioning and birth preparation.

  • Experiencing pelvic discomfort – Supports relaxation for those experiencing tension related to endometriosis, painful sex, or chronic pelvic discomfort.

  • Healing postpartum – May assist with reconnecting to your pelvic space after birth and may help in processing your birth experience.

  • Navigating fertility challenges – Encourages relaxation and increased awareness of the pelvic space.

What happens in a session?

Each 90-minute session ($250) is designed to be a safe, supportive space where you feel fully held and cared for.

What to Expect:

  • A guided discussion on pelvic anatomy and your experience within your body.

  • Gentle, external release work to bring awareness and relaxation to the pelvic space.

  • If appropriate and comfortable, internal pelvic release work using soft touch and breath guidance.

  • Exploration of self-care techniques to continue at home or with partner support.

  • Integration and time to process any emotional or physical sensations that arise.

This work is always consent-led, and we go at a pace that feels right for you. If internal work is not comfortable, external techniques can be used.

  • No, you can book directly without a GP referral.

  • Sessions can be booked from 6 weeks postpartum, once any perineal or cesarean scars have healed, but it really depends on your comfort and how you’re feeling. This work may support reconnection to your body and form part of processing your birth experience if that feels needed. External Scar work and gentle external release can also be offered if internal work is not yet comfortable.

  • This work does not involve diagnosing conditions. Instead, we use gentle, intentional touch to support tissues in releasing tension and restoring balance. The focus is on encouraging flow, drainage, and function within the pelvic space, however I will always refer on if I feel it would benefit you,iis needed or if you’d like to see someone for this reason.

  • Every body responds differently, but it can take up to 48-72 hours for the work to fully integrate. During this time, allow your body to rest, move gently, and notice any shifts in comfort or awareness.

  • Sessions take place at Body Be Good Studio, with easy parking available right out front.

As a midwife, I’ve seen births where, despite using every tool at my disposal, tension in the pelvis persisted, leading to intervention. I’ve also worked with many women navigating pelvic pain & discomfort, menstrual cycle challenges, and challenging postpartum recoveries. Learning from Fiona Hallinan (Internal Pelvic Release Practitioner, Midwife, Spinning Babies educator & all round wonderful wise woman) felt like the missing piece—helping women understand their bodies, relieve discomfort, and if pregnant, to physically prepare for birth by supporting pelvic balance.

If you feel called to explore this work, you are welcome here.
